you are just returning the soul to it's body, if it found an early demise. But yeah the morality with necromancy is somewhat grey, it's like should we condem germ theory, because of biological weapons? Also it's not really fun to run a combat encounter with a horde skeletons at the side of the PCs.
Choose a pile of bones or a corpse of a Medium or Small humanoid within range.
But Necromancy is part of clericing. From D&D Wiki.
Our way of saying thanks!
* - (a drop of blood, a piece of flesh, and a pinch of bone dust). Updated Dynamic Lighting now does as much and even more than our legacy system! It would work great as a guard force/meat(bone? In the D&D 5e, life is fueled by the energy emanating from the Positive Plane, and undeath is fueled by the energy emanating from the Negative Plane. You decide the movement and movement of the controlled creature next turn. How many zombies can you have under animate dead?
In 5e dnd, how many skeletons can you control with animate dead? This spell creates an Undead servant.
By doing this, you can reassert your control over up to 4 creatures that you have made with this spell and you don’t need to make a new one. Wizard
This usage of the animate dead 5e spell can only extend your control time over up to four creatures you create with this spell, it does not create new creatures. Can you command the creature to dispose of itself, instead of letting it eat you in your sleep after 24 hours? What will happen? After battle I prayed that the skeletons be put to rest with ceremony or gentle repose.... not sure which.
For an NPC necromancer it's just part of the course to have 10 or more of his servants killed with a fireball.2 Skeletons sounds reasonable though.
My LvL12 Life Cleric (Apollo) Animated Dead on 2 Skeletons to guard her in battle. The necromantic wizard scholar was probably on his way to lichdom.
This one doesn't. So they moved but didn't fight.
The target becomes a skeleton if you chose bones or a zombie if you chose a corpse (the GM has the creature's game statistics).
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you animate or reassert control over two additional undead creatures for each slot level above 3rd.

I do understand what u r saying. Thriller time is a fun time.
You might be thinking of the Death Domain Cleric. The Grave cleric by sheer lore is the anti-necromancer and hates all things that would desecrate a resting corpse.
So I made my first wizard and focused his school in enchantment. The specific game information of this creature is controlled by DM.
If you choose the remains, the target becomes a skeleton; if you choose the remains, it becomes a zombie.
On their entry in the 'Monsters' section on this site, it doesn't say. Designate a medium or small humanoid remains or bodies within the cast range, and use this spell to inject the tainted false life force into it, evoking it as an undead. Making custom character sheets is easier than ever with a special, streamlined game type to build and test them.
I think you understand well the difference between a cleric who respect the dead and departed souls versus characters using necromancy carelessly, without a second thought about where the "material" is coming from. I had my skeletons flank me to prevent enemy flanking me.
I feel the designers created the Grave Domain as the non-evil counterpart of the Death Domain (DMG p.96). * - (a drop of blood, a piece of flesh, and a pinch of bone dust) In death, all return to the earth, therefore how does using the body of one who is deceased differ from creating a construct of wood, earth, or clay? Just don't animate a dead that are burried or entombed.
Or, you can choose to give a wide range of commands (such as guarding a room or corridor). On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to mentally command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 60 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one). )shield however. ´There should be a lesser lever (maybe lv2) animate dead but with monsters under 1/8 CR.
So in theory I can fill it with 10-20 skeletons and make one and have it take my bag of holding and dump it in the middle of a fight, unleashing a macabre little army?
Or does it just stop doing things for you?
Creation, Available For: Roll20 Reserve is live with monthly perks for Pro Subscribers.
This spell creates an undead servant.
As long as you don't have a bard and a druid with conjure woodland beings... That makes much sense.
To maintain control of the creature for another 24 hours, you must cast this spell on the creature again before the current 24-hour period ends. Animate Dead and Create Undead both have casting times of one minute.
In my homebrew world, dwarves cremate their dead (since fire is deeply sacred)--so would trying to raise one from an urn result in some sort of ash zombie, or an incomplete skeleton using whatever bone fragments are available, or would it just not work? (As described above), Which classes learn animate dead?
and thus I realized it is the only "bad" cleric spell. A drop of blood, a piece of flesh, and a pinch of bone dust, A pile of bones or a corpse of a Medium or Small humanoid within range.
Greater Animate Dead (5e Spell) From D&D Wiki. I smell heresy, the "god" you are praying to is probably Orcus.
How would a skeleton of size greater than medium ever be created in 5e? Update your cookie preferences. The monster manual has such undead, but the rules disallow creating them. That being said, "normal folk" won't look upon undead creation (or very presence of undeads to begin with) as a positive thing and will obviously feel uneasy around someone creating them. Each of the creatures must come from a different corpse or pile of bones. They also help us understand how our site is being used.
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you animate or reassert control over two additional undead creatures for each slot level above 3rd. The Grave Domain embodies the "gravekeepers/undertakers" protecting the peaceful rest of the dead which also means an understanding of the difference between the soul and the flesh left behind, as you pointed out yourself in a way.
If you cast the spell before the end of the current 24-hour period, your manipulation of these creatures is extended by another 24 hours. Can i reassert 4 creatures that died and were controlled by me?
Keeping the level 0-2 spells for defense, I'm nearly unbeatable. The creature is under your control for 24 hours, after which it stops obeying any command you've given it. However, behavioral details are outlined in the Monster Manual entries on Skeletons and Zombies.

Basically; if left alone zombies just stay where they are and rot, and skeletons might mimic things they did in life; but in either case they'll always attack any living thing that they can sense.
